comparing Le Jetee, the short, and 12 Monkeys, the full-length movie

 

The 2 Short 9 blog begins with a very dark and unsettling backdrop. We quickly found that the genre is very similar to the action genre and contains many aspects of it. The whole movie is an action/horror. There are some jumping and fighting scenes. There is a lot of dark visuals as well as a lot of CGI like a typical action movie. The plot of the film is clearly short, because it is a short film so viewers are shown from beginning to middle of a longer story. It follows Character 9 as he seeks revenge against his friends and defeats the monster that once killed his old friends. There's actually very little character development, but one example is where character 9 was scared at first but now he's brave. Sound effects are an important part of the short film because there is no dialogue, but there are many unique sound effects and loud bangs commonly found in the action genre. There are many aspects that make feature films different. Feature films have dialogue while short films do not. The feature film compared to the short also seems to have lost its dark aspects and part of its genre due to less focus on the thriller/horror aspect. Feature films also use better music than short films, but we think short films use better sound effects. The short film focuses more on sound effects because of the lack of dialogue and the fact that there is an atmosphere of silence. Something common in the entire length.
