  •  For the thriller genre option, Shutter Island uses extremely wide shots to show where the film is taking place. They use wide shots to show multiple people walking at a certain time. The mid shot shows the character looking directly at you. The high angle shows them walking through the rain. The low level shows the contrast between the colors. Leonardo DiCaprio dresses in a detective outfit containing a trench coat and a tie. In this movie, Scorsese uses the dark lighting in the scene to symbolize the characters. The makeup in the film shutter island is mainly used to emphasize the expressions on their face. Major props to films that still use miniature models like this rather than purely CGI it up. It's noticeably in higher quality most of the time. The setting for shutter Island is mainly set in building ward C. There are three main blocks of the hospital. building 1 which is for the men, 2 which is for the women, and C which is for the very important patients who need to be kept locked away. When you first see Ward C in the opening it's all dark and gloomy. The effects of the sounds, especially within Shutter Island, catalyze the visual and narrative suspense created through Scorsese's own direction. The editing is fast and fragmented, conveying an intrusive thought as he remembers his wife. elements of genre include, Narrator and Point of View. Third-party narrator telling the story from Teddy Daniels' point of view, Tone and Mood, and Setting and Context. In the early 1950s, Shutter Island was a tropical island off the American coast.
  • I enjoyed the close-up camera angle because it was able to show the expression on the character's face when there was a plot twist.
  • one thing I did not enjoy would have to be the use of makeup it was boring and there wasn't a lot involved.

Beginning the process

we started the filming process today. This took up all four of our group partners. we have two actors in the film and two behind the camera. This provides for more efficiency to get more work done. I am one of the main actors in our film. We decided to start with the beginning scenes of the film for the organization. everything from the film to the acting ran extremely smoothly. the beginning scenes take place at a local park. during this scene, I had to act with sydni. We timed our acting and filming days perfectly. As the weather was fantastic for filming. I had to do a lot of acting during the scenes because I am the main character but it's fun. we traveled to the house for some more scenes. These scenes take place further on in the film. In this scene, the babysitter and the kid are doing typical baby things. Things ran pretty smoothly for this scene as well. Then we finished filming. editing the masterpiece

  Another piece of the overall project that we had to work on was the title design. The title design is one of the most important parts because it hooks the reader in. So we made sure to spend a lot of time and perfect it. We had out title chosen from the planning and everything. But one big big problem is we were contradicting ourselves if it was good or not. We kept discussing if the title was still good. After a lot of discussing we still couldn't come to a simple verdict. So what we did was we talked over with our group and decided on a vote. It was either we change it or keep it the same. We decided to just keep it the same. Then we split up into different things to work on. I started on implementing the title. I had to work on the transition and the colors of the words. I had to make sure the timing was right and it couldn't be to long or to short.
