Comparing 9, the short, and 9, the full-length movie
The Le Jetee compared with the 2 Monkeys remake has many similarities, one would argue that it is a remake, but also differs quite a bit in how they are produced and presented on screen. The Jetee is a weird movie in that it's not really a smooth movie more like a stills novel about the post-nuclear war time travel experience. On the other hand, 12 Monkeys is a movie about a prisoner sent back in time to gather information about a man-made virus that has wiped out most of the human population on the planet. Both films can be extended into the sci-fi genre, as most of the films are set in a futuristic world where time travel exists. One of the biggest lessons I learned from watching this video is that remakes can feel just like the original movies as long as they're done the right way. It's related to our project in that we were able to take some aspects of well made movies and use them as inspiration and guidance in our project to make a film that has may resemble the works of a Hollywood-level movie. Other information I gathered while watching this video merges genres to create a more dramatic feel. In the video, they use examples from the movie 12 Monkeys to show how they can make a sci-fi thriller and combine aspects of a tough romance to create. that dramatic and emotional effect. I think somehow it can be incorporated into our film to give our film the emotion.Blog 1 The Jetee and the 12 Monkeys remake has many similarities, one would argue that it is a remake, but also differs quite a bit in how they are produced and presented on screen.
